Workshop on Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls – From Design to Construction
Yogyakarta, September 16, 2025 – PT Geoforce Indonesia once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the advancement of geotechnical engineering in Indonesia. At the Alumni Mengajar #6 program organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DTSL), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, the President Director of PT Geoforce Indonesia, Ir. Dandung Sri Harninto, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., was invited as a speaker, delivering a presentation on “Workshop on Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls – From Design to Construction.”
In his presentation, he provided a comprehensive explanation of the Geoframe Design as an alternative structure to Reinforced Soil Slopes (RSS). The topics covered included the design concept of RSS, the design process, an introduction to the Geoframe system, its advantages, typical applications, and case studies on Geoframe implementation.
The program concluded with a field visit to a Geoframe project located within the UGM campus area, giving students the opportunity to directly observe the application of this technology on site. Several students also had the chance to receive exclusive merchandise from PT Geoforce Indonesia during the discussion session.
PT Geoforce Indonesia hopes that this collaboration will strengthen the relationship between industry and academia while serving as a platform for meaningful knowledge transfer for civil engineering students in Indonesia.
