PT Geoforce Indonesia Serves as Guest Speaker in a Guest Lecture at Universitas Pertamina
PT Geoforce Indonesia once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational development and enhancing the quality of human resources in the fields of civil and geotechnical engineering by participating as a guest speaker in an academic lecture at Universitas Pertamina. On this occasion, PT Geoforce Indonesia presented the topic “Reinforced Soil Structure and Mechanically Stabilized Earth Wall,” highlighting innovative solutions for landslide mitigation and slope stabilization in infrastructure projects.
The lecture was designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, design principles, and practical applications of reinforced soil structures and mechanically stabilized earth walls in addressing geotechnical challenges encountered in the field. The materials covered fundamental theories, design criteria, material selection, and construction stages, all of which were aligned with technical standards and occupational safety requirements.
In addition to technical and design aspects, the lecture also discussed common challenges faced during project implementation, including variations in soil conditions, limited working space within construction areas, and the need to comply with safety and sustainability requirements. This discussion offered practical insight into the complexity of geotechnical works, which rely not only on technical calculations but also on sound decision-making in the field.
To further enrich students’ understanding, PT Geoforce Indonesia complemented the session with case studies on the application of Geoframe technology and the Geoforce Segmental Retaining Wall (GSRW), which have been implemented in various infrastructure projects across Indonesia. These case studies elaborated on the planning process, construction methods, and structural performance evaluation, enabling students to gain direct insight into the implementation of effective and practical geotechnical solutions.
