GUEST LECTURE PRACTITIONER COURSE & VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP SOIL IMPROVEMENT

PT. Geoforce Indonesia was invited to organize a Virtual Field Trip as well as being a resource person as a practicing lecturer at a guest lecture which was held online by the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Tadulako University. The resource persons at the guest lecture this time were Mr. Dandung Sri Harninto S.T., M.T., as the Main Director and Mr. Abdul Aziz Avicenna as the Director of Sales, Marketing & Engineering. The Soil Improvement Guest Lecture was also attended by Ms. Martini S.T., M.T., as a lecturer for the Soil Improvement course as well as Chair of the Geotechnical KDK, Ms. Astri S.T., M.T., as Deputy Department of Civil Engineering, engineering faculty lecturers, Masters students, as well as study program students Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tadulako University.

The implementation of the Guest Lecture and Virtual Field Trip simultaneously supports the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PK-KM) held by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of tertiary institutions so that they can contribute to increasing the nation's competitiveness. In the first session Mr. Dandung delivered an introductory material on the Use of Geosynthetics and its Types as a Method for Soil Improvement and Strengthening. He explained that geosynthetics is an alternative material that can be used for geotechnical structures, consisting of various types of synthetic polymer materials specifically fabricated for use in geotechnical, geo-environmental, hydraulic and transportation engineering applications. In general, geosynthetic materials can be identified as having main functions, namely separation, filters, drainage, reinforcement, liquid and gas storage as well as erosion control. In several applications in the field, geosynthetic materials can simultaneously function two or even more of these functions.

Furthermore, in the second session, namely the virtual field trip, Mr. Aziz guided the initial presentation regarding the situation and conditions at the work location, an explanation of the type of work, who was involved in it, and how the activities in the field were described. A more detailed explanation of the work implementation process was delivered by each Site Engineer as well as the On Site Speaker who guides the Virtual Field Trip at the project site. There are three selected destinations for the Virtual Field Trip agenda this time, namely Geoframe Work at Juniper's Podomoro Golf View Area in Cimanggis Depok, GSRW Work on the Serpong-Balaraja Toll Road Development Project, and the Geotube Installation Project for Indramayu Rembat Beach Abrasion Management.
