Geoforce Indonesia Participates in the Memorial Lecture of Ir. H. Daruslan at UMY
Yogyakarta — PT Geoforce Indonesia proudly participated as one of the sponsors in the Memorial Lecture of Ir. H. Daruslan, organized by the Geotechnical Laboratory of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). This event served as an academic platform that brought together practitioners, academics, and students to discuss the latest developments in geotechnical engineering and sustainable construction.
With the main theme focusing on the application of the modified chicken claw system for container yard pavement, the event featured Prof. Harry Christady Hardiyatmo, one of Indonesia’s leading geotechnical experts, as the main speaker.
As part of the event series, Geoforce Indonesia also contributed through a knowledge-sharing session delivered by Mr. Dandung Sri Harninto, President Director of PT Geoforce Indonesia. On this occasion, he presented a topic titled “Reinforced Soil Retaining Wall for Bund Wall of Ash Handling Facility Coal-Fired Steam Power.”
The presentation discussed the application of reinforced soil retaining wall technology as a construction solution for the bund wall area of ash handling facilities in coal-fired steam power plants. It provided practical insights into how geosynthetic technology supports soil stability, construction efficiency, and long-term infrastructure sustainability.
The students showed great enthusiasm throughout the session, reflected in the large number of questions addressed to Mr. Dandung regarding field implementation, construction challenges, and the effectiveness of geosynthetic applications in various project conditions. This interactive discussion highlighted the strong interest of the younger generation in geotechnical innovation and modern construction solutions.
Through this session, Geoforce Indonesia hopes to provide practical knowledge as well as valuable engineering insights for participants, especially students and academics, regarding real challenges and effective solutions in modern geotechnical projects.
This participation also reflects Geoforce Indonesia’s commitment to supporting knowledge development, strengthening collaboration between industry and academia, and encouraging more effective, efficient, and sustainable construction innovations.
Hopefully, the knowledge and experience shared during this event will serve as inspiration and valuable references for the next generation of civil engineering professionals in facing future infrastructure challenges.
