Geoforce Indonesia Invites UMY Students to Gain Hands-On Learning Experience at the Yogyakarta–Bawen Toll Road Project
Yogyakarta – PT Geoforce Indonesia once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the development of human resources in the engineering and construction sectors through its Geoforce Goes to Campus program. This time, the initiative was carried out in collaboration with students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) through a field visit to the Yogyakarta–Bawen Toll Road Project.
The visit was part of Geoforce Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Through direct exposure to project activities on site, students had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of various aspects of construction project execution that extend beyond the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom.
During the visit, participants were introduced to the different stages of construction work, project management systems, coordination among project stakeholders, and the challenges commonly encountered in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. The students also gained valuable insights into the importance of occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, which are an integral part of every construction activity.
The program is expected to broaden students’ perspectives on the realities of the professional working environment while helping strengthen their competencies and preparedness to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic construction industry.
Through the Geoforce Goes to Campus program, PT Geoforce Indonesia continues to make meaningful contributions to education by providing practical learning opportunities that are closely aligned with industry needs. This collaboration between academia and industry is expected to help nurture competent, innovative, and future-ready young talents who can contribute to Indonesia’s infrastructure development.
