GI-Bag namely a geotextile container made as a protective structure beach which functions as foundation underground groyne or breakwater as well as to protect land from coastal abrasion caused by the continuous movement of ocean currents. The GI-Bag is filled with local sand material, making it easier for mobilization and installation. The structure of the GI-Bag embankment that is flexible with high elongation can be designed to anticipate scouring on the bottom of breakwater foundations.
GI-Bag is made of polypropylene which is resistant toultraviolet. This material is very friendly environment, even mussels, algae, and moss can live attached to this GI-Bag fiber, making GI-Bag more protected from sunburn and the structure can integrate with the marine ecosystem. This material's resistance against acids, bases and alkalis makes GI-Bag able to withstand any conditions of soil and seawater.
GI-Bag is very suitable for being applied in various kinds of water constructions such as river bank protection, temporary jetty, groyne, breakwater, revetment, dyke etc.
